How to start a shared calendar
- Each person downloads DayBay from the App Store. The app supports iPhone with iOS 18.0 or later and iPad with iPadOS 18.0 or later.
- Open the app and sign in with Apple or Google.
- The person sending the invitation chooses “Create shared calendar”, enters a calendar name and selects “Create”.
- After creating the calendar, select “Invite members”, then “Share link” to send the invitation. For an existing calendar, invite someone from the calendar members screen.
- The person invited opens the link, checks the calendar name and who invited them, then selects “Join this calendar”. They can then share that calendar’s events, notes and to-dos.
- After joining, check the name of the shared calendar you want to use. When adding events or notes, and when using to-dos, check whether you have selected a personal or shared calendar.
Keep your own events in a personal calendar. Information added to a shared calendar is visible to that calendar’s members.
What is shared? Using events, notes and to-dos
Events, daily notes and to-dos added to a shared calendar are shared with its members. Keep information you want to manage on your own in a personal calendar. The invitation preview shows the calendar name and who invited you; shared content is not shown until you join.
For a trip, put departure and return dates in events, the day’s meeting place or messages in notes, and things to pack in to-dos. Use events for scheduled plans, notes for information about a day, and to-dos for tasks you want to mark complete.
To share, each person signs in with Apple or Google and joins the same shared calendar.

If you cannot join from an invitation link
If you have not installed the app yet, install it and sign in, then open the original invitation link again.
If the app says the link cannot be used or you cannot join, ask the person who invited you for a new link. If the issue continues, tell support what message appeared and what steps you followed.
Importing an external calendar
Google Calendar, Outlook and the Apple calendar on your device use a one-time import: with your permission, you select events to copy. DayBay does not keep them in sync or write changes back to the original calendar.
